Elie Saab Haute Couture S/S 2012; If candy coloured gowns weren’t enough to excite the little girl in all of us, the immaculate detail of Saab’s romantic creations were. Emerging with a colour palette of powder blue, rose pink, sorbet lemon, peach and mint greens, it was love at first sight with Elie Saab’s gown extravaganza of a collection. Embedded with botanical features from sequined chiffon flowers to leaf outlines and abundant petal coverings, the Haute Couture collection was nothing but draped in sequins galore adding to its red carpet ready allure.
Some of the lacework, especially in the peach toned gowns and the embellished caped reminded me of Sarah Burton’s latest gowns in McQueen’s S/S 2012 RTW collection. Despite its somewhat lengthy in the realms of couture-44 piece clinched waist collection, it was all primed to utter perfection! (unlike some collections *cough* Chanel *cough*). As always, Saab’s collections are a joy to view, leaving you thinking ‘I’ll have one of everything’, as he sticks tight to what he knows, and season after season does exceptionally well!
with love.
